Fall Marathons & Daily Habits

Crisp mornings, crunchy leaves, all the squash recipes… Most importantly, it’s marathon season. Along with Chicago this past weekend, we also kept up with the rest of the endurance sport world, including the Women’s Ironman Championship in Kona, UCI Gravel Worlds in the Netherlands, and the penultimate race of the Lifetime Grand Prix Series. Next up in the marathon line up: Marine Corps on October 26; New York on November 2; California International Marathon on December 7. In case you missed it, mountain athlete, Killian Jornet, just completed a personal project representing “the perfect nexus of his curiosity about the body’s limits and a drive to understand threats to American wilderness, through both personal experience and conversations with locals along the way.” He called his project that connected all the 14-ers across the United States “States of Elevation" meant not only summiting all, but traveling only by foot or bike. One adventurous journalist got to go along.
